Ukiah Unified School District (UUSD) is excited to announce that enrollment for transitional kindergarten (TK) and kindergarten for the 2025-26 school year is now open.
Families in Ukiah and surrounding areas are encouraged to secure their child’s spot in one of UUSD’s state-of-the-art classrooms by enrolling now for the upcoming school year.
Why enroll early?
Transitional kindergarten and kindergarten programs at UUSD offer a unique opportunity for children to begin their educational journey in custom-designed classrooms with experienced teachers. Highlights include:
Tailor-made spaces: Brand-new classrooms and playgrounds designed specifically for young learners.
Small class sizes: Certified teachers provide individualized attention with a 20:1 student-teacher ratio.
Balanced daily activities: A focus on structured learning, play, and rest, with nutritious meals provided.
Social and academic success: Research shows that children who attend TK and kindergarten are better prepared for school and beyond.
Enrolling now allows the district to properly plan for the upcoming school year, including classroom space and hiring requirements.
Eligibility
Transitional kindergarten: Children turning 4 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2025. Kindergarten: Children turning 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2025.
Grace Hudson Elementary School enrollment
Grace Hudson has a lottery for enrollment at the end of February. Consequently, their registration closes on Feb. 21, 2025. The lottery will be on Feb. 28, with selected families notified in early March. Parents are encouraged to register early.
Final enrollment deadline for all other schools is March 28, 2025, though early registration is also encouraged.
The enrollment window is open through March to accommodate new families moving into the area. Current residents are asked to enroll as soon as possible to facilitate classroom and hiring needs.
