BROOKFIELD — A portion of a $3.2 million sanitary sewer project has been completed in the township and residents soon will be able to have their homes hooked up to the new sewer lines.

Trumbull commissioners on Wednesday passed a resolution approving the partial completion of the Yankee Lake Sanitary Sewer Improvement project on Yankee Lake Road.

The completed sewer line project will provide about 14,000 linear feet of sewer line for a total of 83 households and three businesses in Brookfield and Yankee Lake.

It replaces one that contributed to untreated sewage going into the Shenango River.
