The Pioneer Woman host officially became a grandmother earlier this month with the birth of her granddaughter, Sofia. Alex and her husband, Mauricio Scott, welcomed their daughter’s arrival on Dec. 18.
A week after Sofia was born, the new parents treated fans with a behind-the-scenes look at their trip to the hospital. The video, which Alex and Mauricio shared in a joint post on Instagram on Tuesday, Dec. 24, began with Alex explaining that they went to a doctor’s appointment on Dec. 16, when they learned that they would be having their baby the following day.
“1 week ago,” Alex, 27, wrote in her Instagram caption. “Bringing our beautiful daughter into the world is the closest I’ll ever feel to Heaven. Praise God ?.”

“Omg I’m sobbing! How precious, how beautiful! You can just see how elated you are to be her mommy ??,” an Instagram user wrote.
“Ok I just cried my eyes out,” one fan wrote, adding, “She is adorable. Her little nose is so cute.”
