Irwindale Speedway will close down after being the home for many Nascar drivers since 1999.

The venue is located in Irwindale, California, which is close to 20 miles east of Los Angeles.

The track was the host for a number of the series’ races over the years.

Irwindale Speedway has been in operation for 25 years and will end after the 2024 season.

It came to a close last Saturday and had a celebration on December 21 as fans said their goodbyes to the beloved track.

The setting, which was called The House of Drift, was the host to Nascar races, demolition derbies, street-legal drag racing, and Formula Drift events.

Fans were able to see the Cup Series champions Logano, Kurt, and Kyle Busch before they became popular in the Nascar world.

Irwindale Speedway has narrowly avoided closure in recent years

When Irwindale’s future appeared to look bleak in 2017, Tim Huddleston bought the property on Christmas Eve.

Unfortunately, the track couldn’t avoid the economic pressures with the land’s owner, IDS Real Estate.

The property will turn into a commercial and industrial complex.

“Irwindale has been more than just a track – it’s been a home and gathering place for racing enthusiasts worldwide,” Huddleston said.

“On behalf of my wife Lisa and our partners Bob and Maureen Bruncati, we extend heartfelt thanks to our fans, racers, sponsors, and the City of Irwindale for their unwavering support over the past 25 years.”

Fans shared their disappointment over Irwindale Speedway’s closure.

“It’s pretty sad. A lot of great memories at that track,” one commented.

“What a shame,” another wrote.

“So sad,” a third added.

“I’m going to miss this track so much,” a fourth said.
