No casting news has been confirmed yet, but it’s highly likely that most of the major players will return. Two actors who probably won’t be back are Mark Strong and Tabu, who played Emperor Javicco Corrino and Francesca, respectively, in Season 1. (Their characters both died in the season finale.) The first show’s first season was loosely based on the 2012 novel Sisterhood of Dune by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson, which is about the founding of the order that eventually becomes the Bene Gesserit of the films. It’s not yet known which book will serve as the basis for Season 2—there are 23 of them—but there’s still plenty of story left in Sisterhood of Dune that hasn’t been told.
