November 20, 2024 (JUBA) – South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir has sacked the Commissioner General of the South Sudan Revenue Authority (SSRA), Africano Mande, appointing Simon Akuei Deng as his successor. Kiir’s decree was announced on the state-owned television (SSBC) on Wednesday. The decree did not mention why the SSRA Commissioner General was sacked. Akuei, the Secretary General of the South Sudan National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, joins SSRA at a time when the country is grappling with economic challenges.
