Tuolumne, CA — CAL Fire reports that a prescribed burning project is taking place at the Sardella Ranch off Wards Ferry Road outside of Tuolumne. The plan is to burn 80 acres throughout today (October 21). Smoke will be visible nearby. It is a hazardous fuel reduction project. This coming Thursday and Friday, October 24-25, a combined 80 acres will also be ignited at the Pine Mountain Lake Vegetation Management Project site outside of Groveland. CAL Fire states, “The goal of each prescribed burn is to reduce available fuels to slow the rate and spread of potential wildfires and burn the reproduction of the brush that has been removed.”
