The Youngstown State University Jazz Ensemble will perform at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Bliss Hall’s Ford Theater. The ensemble, directed by Kent J. Engelhardt, will play such jazz standards as “Back Bone” by Thad Jones, “Samba Con Getchu” by Bob Brookmeyer, and “The Heat’s On” by Sammy Nestico. The concert also will feature arrangements of “Upper Manhattan Medical Group” and “Georgia On My Mind” by YSU alumnus Mike Kamuf. Vocalist Elizabeth Jadue will join the ensemble for “I Ain’t Got Nobody,” “Lover Man” and “Georgia on My Mind.” Admission is free.
