A carjacking outside of a popular Chapel Hill restaurant on Monday morning led to one of its branded vehicles being taken — and now police are asking the public for help. A release from the Chapel Hill Police Department detailed the incident, which took place around 8 a.m. outside of Breadman’s at 261 South Elliott Road. According to investigations, a Breadman’s employee saw a man stealing from a Breadman’s branded pickup truck. When the employee confronted the suspect, the person fired a gunshot and the left the area in the truck. Chapel Hill Police said no one has reported injuries from the gunshot.
