CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) - A murder suspect in a kidnapping and burglary case from January is now in custody, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police announced on Thursday. Quanticus Rucker, 33, was arrested on Thursday and charged with robbery, kidnapping, and murder of Diana Perez-Barrera. He's also charged with gun possession as a felon. Officers responded to calls regarding the incident on Friday, January 19th, around 6 a.m. near 7900 Turquoise Drive in east Charlotte. Perez-Barrera was found suffering from gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead on the scene. Detectives later identified Rucker as the suspect after he was arrested on unrelated charges, CMPD said.
