A 911 caller reported spotting the victim down in the roadway at about 9:25 p.m. Thursday in the 1100 block of North Fig Street, and then hearing a vehicle traveling out of the area to the south at high speed. Police said the teen, an Escondido resident, may have been riding a skateboard at the time.
