Sweida, SANA-The harvesting of the pistachio crop for the current season has begun in Sweida, with production estimated at about 379 tons, according to the Agriculture Directorate in the province. In a statement to SANA, Assistant Director of Sweida Agriculture Directorate, Alaa Shuhaib ,said that the total areas cultivated with pistachio in the province is 6,750 dunums, containing 128,000 trees of which 104,000 are bearing fruit. Pistachio has an important rank among the fruitful trees in Sweida, which ranks fifth among the Syrian provinces in terms of cultivated areas with this crop. Manar Salameh
