WADESBORO, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- The Wadesboro Police Department is investigating after a missing teen was found dead on the side of the road. On Friday, July 26, officers found a body on the roadside of Highway 52 South near Old Lilesville Road. Investigators turned the investigation over to the NC Highway Patrol because they believed the victim was hit by a vehicle, officials said. On Sunday, Aug. 4, authorities identified the body as 17-year-old Anthony Valladares. According to Wadesboro Police, Valladares was reported missing on July 23, three days before his body was found.
