DENVER (KDVR) — A wildfire ignited late Tuesday night in Jefferson County, forcing mandatory evacuations. The fire was burning along Deer Creek Canyon Road, according to the West Metro Fire Protection District. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said the area was west of Grizzly Drive. Mandatory evacuations were issued in Deer Creek Mesa and off of Sampson Road, according to the sheriff's office. The fire stood at 4 acres as of around 11 p.m. and was burning in brush and timber.
