SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- The United States Coast Guard responded after a man plunged off the eastbound side of the Bay Bridge Friday afternoon in an apparent effort to avoid law enforcement, according to the California Highway Patrol. The CHP got a call regarding a two-vehicle crash at 2:17 p.m. involving a Kia Soul that overturned. The crash left debris all over the roadway. The driver, a white male between 20 and 30 years old, was the Kia's sole occupant. According to the CHP, he left the vehicle and ran eastbound on the center median.
