DENVER (KDVR) -- The Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office confirmed Saturday morning that evacuations have begun in parts of the county for a brush fire south of Byers. The fire is in the area of 2400 South Quail Hollow Road south of Interstate 70. According to the sheriff's office, the fire was around the size of a football field as of 11:20 a.m. and was burning several hundred yards from homes. ACSO said the fire was burning on farmland. The ACSO Wildland Fire Team was sent to assist the Byers Fire Protection District and Bennett-Watkins Fire Rescue. No further information is available.
