Simone Biles, a name synonymous with excellence in gymnastics, has once again made headlines as she leads the Women’s Gymnastics Team to represent Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Biles, a four-time Olympic gold medalist and multiple world champion, has solidified her status as one of the greatest gymnasts of all time.

With her unparalleled skills and unwavering dedication to the sport, Biles continues to inspire young athletes around the world. Her presence on the team not only elevates their chances of success but also serves as a role model for aspiring gymnasts who dream of reaching the pinnacle of their sport.

Rivera, 16, is a newcomer to the group. The other four women competed at the 2020 Olympics.

Joining this year’s Team USA are alternates Joscelyn Roberson and Leanne Wong.

Biles will lead the team in her third Olympics after winning her ninth U.S. all-around title earlier this month. She also was the top winner of the women’s trials.

Suni Lee to prove — perhaps to herself most of all — that the all-around gold medal she earned while Biles watched from the stands wasn’t a fluke.

Jordan Chiles to turn the team silver she helped secure at the 2020 Games into gold.

Jade Carey to be an official member of the five-woman Olympic squad after earning her way to Tokyo as an individual qualifier, a pathway not available to the U.S. this time around and frankly, one she had no interest in exploring again anyway.

They’re all stepping back into the unique spotlight — oh, and 16-year-old newcomer Hezly Rivera, too — only the sport’s biggest stage can provide.

Joining Biles in Paris will be three of her Tokyo Olympic teammates: Suni Lee (111.675), Jordan Chiles (111.425) and Jade Carey (111.350). First-year senior Hezly Rivera (111.150) will round out the team in what will be her first trip to the Games.

With Biles (2016 Olympic all-around champion) and Lee (2020 Tokyo Olympic all-around) both on the team, this also marks the first time in history that an Olympic gymnastics team has included two Olympic all-around champions.

Coming into the evening, the door was wide open for an athlete who wasn't initially favored to make the Olympic team to step up and seize the moment. In a matter of days the U.S. team lost several top contenders, including six-time world medalist Shilese Jones, who withdrew from the competition after only competing on the uneven bars on night one. Her current injury status is unknown.
