At approximately 12:11 p.m., Chula Vista police officers responded to calls about a singlevehicle that had hit a tree near Villas Drive and Villas Court. Medics arrived at the scene and found the driver, 64, with serious injuries, still trapped in the vehicle. Firefighters began lifesaving measures after freeing the victim before transporting him to a hospital. Upon arrival, however, doctors pronounced him dead.
