The fire was reported at 1:21 p.m. off the 2600 block of Boca Raton Street near Calais Drive, west of Interstate 5. Fire-Rescue reported five engines, three brush rigs, three helicopters and 54 personnel have been assigned to stop the spread. Units from the city of Poway were also assisting. The location of the new brush fire is at the edge of the Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve Extension.
