As in previous months, consumers mentioned prices as being top of mind in the latest Consumer Confidence survey from The Conference Board. They also expect both inflation and interest rates to increase over the next 12 months. While shoppers have had to grapple with elevated prices and interest rates for some time now, this painful combination has started to weigh on their spending.
