The Town of Chapel Hill broke ground on a new affordable housing community Monday. The project is a public-private partnership between the Town of Chapel Hill, Community Housing Partners, and Southway Builders. Located near Umstead Park, the reimagined Trinity Court will replace its existing 40 units with 53 new apartments. Trinity Court was originally built in 1975, but closed in 2018 due to poor building conditions. The community will serve households earning between 30 and 80 percent of the Area Median Income, expanding affordable housing opportunities on town-owned land.
