Kent State University at Trumbull Theatre will have auditions this month for its two Summer Stock productions. The summer musical will be “American Idiot,” built around the songs of Green Day. It ran for a year on Broadway in 2010-11 and received three Tony nominations. Auditions are open to performers ages 16 and older. Those under 18 years old will need signed permission by a parent or guardian before being cast. Those auditioning should prepare 16 bars of a rock musical theater song not from “American Idiot.” Performers also will be asked to sing scales and participate in a group dance audition.
