The body of a Covelo man reported missing earlier this month was discovered late Monday afternoon, the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office reported. MCSO Capt. Greg Van Patten said that on Nov. 23, “a bystander found two deceased (persons) in a remote area of Hulls Valley Road in Covelo,” and that deputies and other personnel “processed the scene all day Tuesday.” One of the bodies was identified as Kyle James McCartney, 34, of Covelo, who had been reported missing Nov. 19 after an assault and kidnapping was reported in the 24400 Block of Oak Lane.
