Nashville out of its first intercontinental competition with a dominating, 3-1 victory at Chase Stadium in the second leg of the teams' round of 16 series. Miami advanced to the quarterfinals, winning the series 5-3 on aggregate after a 2-2 draw in last Thursday's first leg in Nashville.

Messi went down late in regulation of that game when Nashville defender Lukas Macnaughton stepped on his left calf. A trainer checked on Messi, who remained on the pitch.
Drake Callender, coming off a disappointing performance against Montreal, had two saves before giving up a goal to Sam Surridge in stoppage time.
Wednesday was the fourth time that head coach Gary Smith's Nashville club has faced Messi since he joined Inter Miami and MLS last summer.
