A Southern California man was killed Saturday when the van he was driving crashed on Highway 1 near Westport, the California Highway Patrol reported. According to the CHP, the driver of a 2006 BraunAbility E350 van, who was described only as a 73-year-old man living in Ojai, was heading southbound on Hwy. 1 around 10:15 a.m. March 9 when, “for an unknown reason, (he) made an unsafe turning movement” south of mile marker 77 (located several miles north of Fort Bragg), causing the van to leave the roadway.
