Jurors in the trial of Jesse Milton Alvarez, 33, also found true a special circumstance allegation of lying in wait. Alvarez faces a maximum sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole for the Feb. 1, 2021, death of Mario Fierro, who was shot multiple times outside his home as he was preparing to go to work.
