Fortnite players around the world are eagerly awaiting the launch of Chapter 5 Season 2, but they may have to wait a little longer than expected. Epic Games has announced that maintenance for the new season is expected to take longer than usual, leaving players in suspense.
This news has sparked mixed reactions among the Fortnite community. Some players are disappointed by the delay, eager to dive into the new content and challenges that Chapter 5 Season 2 will bring. Others understand that maintenance is necessary to ensure a smooth and enjoyable gaming experience.
This newest season, titled Myths and Mortals, is centered on Greek mythology. During last weekend’s live event, Pandora’s Box was opened by the community, unleashing all the evils trapped inside.
Fortnite shared that Olympian legends such as Hades and thunder god Zeus are ruling the Island in otherworldly rage and you must use their mythological means against them in this new season.
New locations include Mount Olympus, Grim Gate, The Underworld and Brawler's Battleground.
Fortnite remains down, and while there have been some updates, none have been accurate or definitive. Clearly something has gone very, very wrong behind the scenes and Epic Games does not have a solid timetable on a fix.
Originally, the game publisher informed gamers that the update would be available early Friday morning. At around 9 am ET they updated that to an 8 hour delay. That would put the Season 2 release at around 4 pm ET.
Apple said in a statement that "following conversations with Epic, they have committed to follow the rules, including our DMA policies. As a result, Epic Sweden AB has been permitted to re-sign the developer agreement and accepted into the Apple Developer Program."
Apple finished 1% higher at $170.73 Friday. They've lost about 8% of their value so far this year.
While it can be frustrating to experience downtime with Fortnite, it is important to remember that these issues are usually temporary and will be resolved quickly. In the meantime, players can take a break from gaming or try out other games while they wait for Fortnite to be back up.
In conclusion, while it may be inconvenient when Fortnite is not working, players can rest assured that the developers are working hard to get the game back online as soon as possible.
