William Spithaler, 57, of Davis Peck Road, operated a logging company in Gustavus when he was brought up on charges of grand theft, breaking and entering, along with a charge of vandalism. On Wednesday, Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge Cynthia Rice sentenced Spithaler. The defendant will have to pay a restitution of $35,214, which is the estimated value of the lumber stemming from the incident.
