CHAMPAIGN — The Champaign Central football team has found its next head coach, and it didn’t have to look far. Pending the school board’s approval next Monday, former assistant coach Matt Leskis will take over the program. “We are really excited to have Matt as our next head coach,” Central athletic director Jane Stilman told the News-Gazette on Tuesday afternoon. “He has experienced taking a struggling team to the playoffs. Also having the head coach in our building to develop relationships and encourage more athletes to go out for football is a plus.
