Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Friday apprehended a surgery specialist at District Headquarters Hospital, Jharsuguda for allegedly taking bribe from patient. Dr. Supreet Sourav, Surgery Specialist, District Headquarters Hospital, Jharsuguda has been nabbed by the Vigilance officers while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.6,000 from a patient for conducting hydrocele operation of patient and his co-villager. The operation is conducted free of cost in the Govt. hospitals across the State of Odisha. The patient being a poor villager, requested Dr Supreet Sourav to conduct surgery free of cost and expressed his inability to pay the bribe amount Rs.6,000, but the the doctor refuses to do so.
