Thousands of people lined the streets on the day of her funeral in Bray in County Wicklow. Irish president Michael Higgins, U2's Bono and The Edge were among the mourners.

O'Connor is survived by three of her children. In July, her family members released a statement saying they were "devastated" by her death. 
"It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sinéad," the family's statement said. "Her family and friends are devastated and have requested privacy at this very difficult time."

O'Connor was open about her mental health struggles through the years, particularly after the mother of four's 17-year-old son Shane died by suicide 18 months before her death. After a series of concerning posts on then-Twitter, O'Connor admitted herself to a hospital.
A multitude of celebrity social media posts and performances were dedicated to O'Connor in the days after her death, and thousands of fans took to the streets to mourn during her funeral procession in August.
