Gretchen Whitmer signed a nearly $616 million supplemental bill into law Monday, Dec. 18, that provides funding to fix roads and bridges, expands access to clean drinking water and invests in colleges and universities to train highly skilled workers in Michigan. The spending bill also allocates $114 million to forgive longstanding debt hanging over five Michigan school districts: Benton Harbor, Inkster, Muskegon Heights, Pontiac and Ypsilanti.
