Lakers 125 Warriors129 in Preseason Game 4

Los Angeles Lakers are hosting the Golden State Warriors for a preseason game on Friday night, and star forward LeBron James is expected to play, per ESPN's Dave McMenamin. James had previously mentioned his plan to play in half of LA's preseason games, as he wants to manage his workload as he gets later and later into his career.

While the preseason does not meant much, it's exciting any time Steph Curry and LeBron James share the floor. Both stars are expected to play in this game, which should make for a fun atmosphere in Los Angeles, even with it being a preseason game.

Through three preseason games, several Lakers have stood out for how well they've played but D'Angelo Russell might be the most impressive of them all. In his three appearances, Russell is averaging 16.7 points and 6.3 assists to only 1.3 turnovers while shooting 63.3% from the field and 61.5% from behind the arc, in just 19.4 minutes a game.

In Wednesday's win over the Kings, Russell scored 21 points in 21 minutes, and did much of his damage in and around the paint by attacking off the dribble and hunting opportunities to get to the rim against a Kings defense that he perpetually kept off balance. Russell also added eight assists, expertly setting up teammates on no-look passes and more conventional looks with equal expertise

Jackson-Davis first got into the game when Kevon Looney got into foul trouble and was taken out after just 11 minutes played. The rookie was thrown on to defend Anthony Davis and LeBron James and didn’t fare well, collecting four quick fouls.

Jackson-Davis returned for the big fourth quarter and delivered the go-ahead bucket off a Podziemski behind-the-back assist and a block at the rim in the final seconds of the game, initially called a foul then overturned, that helped secure the win.

Three games into the preseason and the Los Angeles Lakers' depth has been on display. Hosts Allie Clifton, Mike Bresnahan and Brad Turner of the LA Times discuss their early takeaways from the team so far.

Warriors head to Sacramento to face the Kings on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. (ESPN) before returing to Chase Center to host the Kings on Oct. 18 (7 p.m.; NBATV). Wednesday's game against the Kings will be 'Stephen Curry College Grad' bobblehead night and their home preseason finale against the Spurs on Oct. 20 will be 'Paper Plane Klay' bobblehead night.
