Jets tie Bills 13-13, first touchdown of season

Aaron Rodgers, but they do have Garrett Wilson and the second-year wideout has helped the Jets draw even with the Bills in the fourth quarter.

Wilson fought off tight coverage from Bills safety Micah Hyde to get his right hand on a pass from quarterback Zach Wilson. He was able to keep his hand on the ball while going to the ground in the end zone and held on for a three-yard touchdown catch,

Greg Zuerlein’s extra point made the score 13-13 with just under five minutes left to play.

Zach Wilson had to take over the offense after Rodgers went out, and the Jets weren't able to get anything going on Monday night. Luckily, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen was throwing the ball away all night, and he just threw his third interception – all picked off by Jordan Whitehead – to set the Jets up for a chance to tie the game, down 13-6. 

Zach Wilson got the offense into the red zone, and on second-and-goal, he lofted a fade to Wilson, who had 1-on-1 coverage with the Bills' top corner Tre'Davious White blanketed all over him. 

Garrett Wilson was hyped after an Offensive Rookie of the Year campaign in 2022 as one of the NFL's most promising rising stars. So far, so good through the first week of the season.

The catch was a bright spot for the Jets on a night that started with utter disappointment when Rodgers left the game with an injury. Rodgers' status for the rest of the season won't be known until further testing is done, but the Jets fear it may be a serious Achilles injury.

But one thing does appear certain. As long as Wilson's on the field, he's going to give whichever quarterback he's playing with a chance to make a play.

The 2022 Offensive Rookie of the Year is a tremendous talent, but his fantasy stock would take a major hit in Week 2 against the Cowboys and for the rest of the season if Rodgers' feared Achilles tear is confirmed by tests in the coming days.
