LEWISBURG, Pa. – Eight Bucknell women’s tennis players opened the 2023-24 season 1-0 with victories in the opening singles round of the Bucknell Invitational on Friday. Five won their matches in straight sets, while three others gutted out tiebreak wins in the round-robin style home tournament with Lafayette, Mount St. Mary’s and Saint Francis. Senior Tyne Miller and junior Caroline Marcus both won playing in the 1 p.m. time slot. Miller bounced back from a 6-1 loss in the opening set to defeat Mount St. Mary’s Adriana Barney 6-4 in the second and 10-6 in the tiebreaker. Marcus defeated Lafayette’s Ally Bauer 6-2, 6-3.
