Marieanne Spacey-Cale's side were twice denied by the woodwork in the first half after Emma Samways gave the visitors an unlikely lead.
A brace from substitute Sophia Pharoah and goals from Lucia Kendell and Paige Peake helped Southampton FC complete the second half comeback.
Saints entered their final home friendly having gone unbeaten during pre-season, including a 14-1 thrashing of third-tier Billericay Town.
Marieanne Spacey-Cale's squad initiated the match with vigor, twice threatening Hashtag United's net in the opening half. Despite their promising efforts, it was the visitors who defied expectations, as Emma Samways handed them an early lead. Fortune seemed to favor the woodwork in the initial proceedings. The woodwork denied Southampton FC Women twice in the first half, exemplifying the team's determination. However, Hashtag United's penalty appeals were dismissed, even as Milly Mott's arm appeared to be involved in the play. Esme Lancaster's audacious chip from 25 yards out showcased Hashtag's determination. Megan Collett came agonizingly close to an instant equalizer just two minutes later when her powerful long-range effort hit both posts. Kendell also suffered misfortune as her shot from 25 yards hit the crossbar just before halftime
The hosts continued to pile on the pressure in the second half and eventually got their equaliser through Pharoah on 57 minutes – the substitute stabbing home from a corner.
The woodwork denied Pharoah a quickfire second before Kendell smashed into an empty net minutes later to complete Southampton’s turnaround.
Pharoah headed the ball past Frankie Angel with 10 minutes of regular time remaining to seal the win for Saints.
Not content with a two-goal victory margin, Peake smashed the ball in from the edge of the box in injury time to cap off a much-improved second half performance.
The primary achievement of the club, established in 1885, is its distinction as the FA Cup champions in 1976. However, following their initial promotion to the former Division One in 1966, Southampton FC has only spent a mere 11 seasons outside of the top tier. Their lengthiest period away was during their time in the Championship and League One between 2005 and 2012.
