ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A local rehabilitation and nursing facility is set to close after Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services terminated its license.
It’s been the subject of dozens of News10NBC investigations surrounding patient care and facility management.
New York Assembly Members Sarah Clark and Josh Jensen issues a statement on Wednesday about the closure, saying in part:
“This week, using the Special Facility Focus designation oversight, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services terminated Waterview Heights’ license. At this moment, requiring the facility to close is unfortunately necessary. This news comes days after the New York State Department of Health ordered Waterview Heights to pay the full $560,000 fine for failing to do any corrective actions and continue another 60 hold on admitting new residents.”
Clark and Jensen say this comes just days after the new York State Department of Health ordered Waterview Heights to pay the full fine for “failing to do any corrective actions and continue another 60 hold on admitting new residents.” The fine is a steep $560,000.
This is a developing story, and is actively getting updated as we learn more.
