Washington Wizards’ offseason of change keeps chugging along as another player is reportedly on his way out. Per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, forward Kristaps Porzingis will be dealt to the Boston Celtics as a part of a three-team deal.

Washington Wizards were up against Kristaps Porziņģis’ player option deadline, the Boston Celtics finally managed to get their big man upgrade … and are saying goodbye to Marcus Smart.

Golden State) heading to Bost0n; Smart going to the Memphis Grizzlies; and the Wizards adding Tyus Jones, Danilo Gallinari, Mike Muscala and the 35th pick in Thursday’s draft.

Porzingis agreed to opt into his deal befor bring dealt to Boston. As a part of the deal, the Washington wizards would receive Tyus Jones froom the Memphis Grizzlies and Donilo Gallinari and Mike Muscala from the Celtics.

The Grizzlies, meanwhile, would receive Marcus Smart from the Celtics while sending their 25th pick in this year’s Draft and a 2024 first-round pick via the Golden state warriors to the Celtics.

Shams Charania said the teams were "closing in" on the deal in a tweet just after 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, as well.

Nevertheless, the deal couldn't get done. Marc Stein reported that injury concerns with Brogdon -- who suffered a torn tendon in his arm during the playoffs -- caused an issue for the Clippers.

However, the possibility of Porzingis to Boston is not over. Wojnarowski followed up his report by saying that "the Wizards are still working on ways to get Kristaps Porzingis to the Celtics in an opt-in and trade scenario, but it won't be in a three-way with the Clippers." Wojnarowski reported that Porzingis still has the option to opt out and become a free agent, though a midnight deadline looms over that decision.

Coffey, who went undrafted in 2019, has played the past four seasons with the Clippers. But the 6-foot-7 wing has never been expected to crack the starting rotation.

He had two years remaining on a three-year deal he signed with the Clippers in 2022 and was set to earn $3.6 million next season.

According to The Athletic, all three teams are still working through the details and Porzingis’ $36 million player option for next season. Boston also is expected to send additional salary, with Danilo Gallinari’s expiring $6.8 million closing the gap to reach the salary match.
