To the Editor: Along with the citizens quoted in your article, I’m also opposed to the Redwood Credit Union’s proposal for a new branch in the heart of downtown Ukiah. It’s simply “not the right site” for a suburban-looking building, big parking lot, and drive-thru ATM. This sort of development is the exact opposite of what citizens envisioned for our historic downtown when we created our new 2040 Ukiah General Plan. We asked for mixed-use, high-density that brings together commercial, office, and residential, that invites pedestrians and enlivens our downtown. This new branch bank will instead bring a steady flow of in-and-out car traffic to an already chaotic four-way stop, right in front
