Today we launch our annual Spring Fund Drive for the Boys and Girls Club of Ukiah. We began this drive several years ago when the Club faced closure for lack of funds just before the critical summer period when so many families depend on it. Today the Club is more important than ever. This year they added a kindergarten program for 5 year-olds that has already almost doubled in size. They have a new executive director, Kim Mercier, and they are doing real afterschool activities which help young children with school work, with getting to know others in their age group, and with just plain having fun.
