On Saturday, February 11th, the Emigrant Basin Pack and Social Club will hold their 21st annual Scholarship Dinner at the Sonora Elks Lodge. Joel Casler, founding member of the Emigrant Basin Pack and Social Club, was Thursday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”. The Emigrant Basin Pack and Social Club started more than a couple of decades ago with a local group of friends who all enjoyed horse packing vacations in the Sierra Nevada. After a couple of years, the group voiced their desire to give back to the community. They decided to support the Tuolumne County Livestock Auction by purchasing pigs at the Mother Lode Fair.
