The Government Engineering College, Kottayam (RIT) Alumni Association Qatar celebrated the popular Kerala festival, Onam, as a grand event titled Poonnonam 22 with traditional fervour. Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology (RIT), named after the late prime minister Rajiv Gandhi and one of the nine engineering colleges fully-owned and run by government of Kerala, started functioning in 1991. The institution has now become one of the leading technical institutes for post-graduation and research studies in Kerala.
