I, Matthew J. Inyart, would like to formally announce my name for consideration for Smith County Commissioner in District 4 (Rome/Rock City) as a Republican candidate. In May 2017, I was elected to fill an empty District 4 seat on the Smith County Commission. While in office, I tried to help bring fiber internet to the Rome area, identify areas where we can modernize county offices, and help get more SROs into Smith County School System. I am married to Stephanie Jenkins-Inyart, an educator who has taught at Union Heights for several years. We have two growing boys- Cooper (6 years old) and Cole (4 years old).
