CU head coach Deion Sanders said Tuesday that he made the decision to have fifth-year senior Kaidon Salter get the starting nod when the Buffaloes visit Kansas State on Saturday (10 a.m. MT, FS1).
A five-star recruit in the 2025 class, Lewis has played in four games this season, the maximum allowed to maintain a redshirt. If he were to play against the Wildcats, he would give up a year of eligibility.

Salter, a fifth-year senior, has started eight of 11 games for the Buffs this season, but has not appeared in a game since being benched during the loss to Arizona.
Salter has completed 113 of 179 passes (63.1%) for 1,242 yards, 10 touchdowns and six interceptions. He’s also rushed for 293 yards and five touchdowns.
