Sonora, CA — The Sonora Police Department reports that a vehicle was pulled over near Old Wards Ferry Road for an equipment violation, and the driver now faces various drug and weapon charges.
It happened at around 11:20 on Wednesday evening. The PD reports that 46-year-old Gregory Vincent Backus was uncooperative after being stopped and had a concealed fixed-blade knife in his possession. The officer’s K9, Ridge, did a narcotic sniff of the vehicle and helped uncover 2.57 ounces of methamphetamine.
