Luke Littler will be competing in the World Youth Championship less than 24 hours after winning the World Grand Prix.
The 18-year-old beat World No.1 Luke Humphries 5-1 in the final on Sunday night to claim another major darts title.
But rather than taking time to celebrate his fourth TV tournament success this year, he has made the surprise decision to get straight back into action.
Littler announced straight after his win over Humphries that he would be competing in the World Youth Championship.
The tournament, which can only include players under the age of 24, will be taking place from 12pm on Monday, October 13 in Wigan.
It means he will be back at the oche playing against darts’ young stars just a day after swooping a £120,000 prize.
“It is true,” Littler said post-World Grand Prix win on Sunday, when asked about rumours he was going to play the next day.
“I’ll head to the World Youths tomorrow and see everyone and have a bit of fun.
“I don’t think anyone is going to be my friend tomorrow, but it’s 20 minutes up the road and I will try my best.
“I could have had the day off, but why not? Play the World Youth, then two [PDC] ProTours in Wigan and have the weekend off.”
Littler opted against playing in the event last year, with Dutchman Gian van Veen lifting the trophy in 2024.
He won the tournament in 2023 though, and now he’s eyeing another title at the Robin Park Leisure Centre this week.

Littler is, of course, a monster favourite to win the World Youth Championships after deciding to compete.
He has now won seven of the PDC’s ten ‘Premier’ events, including last year’s World Championships, following his stunning rise.
But some fans are not happy that he is allowed to compete in the event, despite him fitting the requirements.
Every player has to be under the age of 24 and at 18, Littler fits that ruling, meaning he is fine to play.
But one darts fanatic doesn’t agree with that, writing on X: “If he is 18, he is an adult. That rule needs changing.”
“Youths? Shouldn’t he be playing in the seniors tournaments?” another said about Littler playing in Wigan.

If Littler books a spot in the final, it is scheduled to take place on the same day as the Players Championship Finals, meaning he may have to play in both tournaments on November 23.
The teenage sensation will hope that he’ll be in the Players Championship Finals as he pushes for World No.1.
Littler is now only £70,000 behind Humphries in the PDC world rankings after his £120,000 World Grand Prix success.
He said on Sunday: “Until I get that world No. 1 spot, I’ll never call myself the best in the world.
“Whoever’s No 1, they’re the best, but knowing I’m only £70,000 in prize money behind Luke… he’s got to defend all of his prize money at the Grand Slam of Darts, the Players Championship and the World Championships.
“I don’t want to think about it too much, but I’ve just got to keep chucking away and put as much pressure as I can on Luke.”
