After running 10,000 simulations of the upcoming campaign, the predicted table has been revealed.

The simulations were run using betting market odds and the Opta Power Rankings.

Birmingham and Ipswich kick-off the season at St. Andrew’s on Friday night.

Meanwhile, Wrexham make their return to the second tier the following day away to Southampton.

It will be the Red Dragons’ first campaign at this level since relegation 43 years ago in 1982.

Phil Parkinson’s side have achieved three consecutive promotions from the National League to the Championship.

However, they have been tipped to occupy the opposite end of the table this term by the supercomputer.

Wrexham are predicted to finish one place above the relegation zone in 21st with an average points tally of 57.4.

They have been given the third-highest probability of relegation, though, with only Oxford and Watford more likely to go down than their 20.2 per cent chance.

The supercomputer has tipped those two clubs to drop into League One alongside play-off winners Charlton.

Below them, Ipswich, Coventry, Southampton and West Brom are expected to head into the post-season lottery of the play-offs.

    Wrexham’s opening fixtures

As well as being tipped for a difficult campaign, the Red Dragons have also been handed one of the Championship’s toughest starts.

According to Opta Analyst, Wrexham’s opening four fixtures are the fifth-hardest in the division.

Following their trip to St. Mary’s, they host West Brom and Sheffield Wednesday at the Racecourse Ground.

Their fourth fixture sees the club visit Millwall in their last match before the first international break.

    Wrexham's first six matches

    Saturday, August 9 – Southampton (A)

    Saturday, August 16 – West Brom (H)

    Saturday, August 23 – Sheffield Wednesday (H)

    Saturday, August 30 – Millwall (A)

    Saturday, September 13 – QPR (A)

    Saturday, September 20 – Norwich (A)

Those opponents have an average rating of 81.6 out of 100 with only Middlesbrough, Millwall, Swansea and Derby deemed to have harder starts.

In contrast, Coventry’s opening run is the easiest with an average opponent rating of 79.8.

When expanded to the opening nine fixtures, Wrexham’s challenge falls to the ninth-hardest with an 81.2 average opponent rating.

Parkinson has already spent over £9million on seven new signings to bolster his squad this summer.

The club have twice broken their club record transfer fee after bringing in Liberato Cacace and then Lewis O’Brien.

Nathan Broadhead could smash that record for a third time, though, as he edges closer to completing a £7.5million switch from Ipswich.
