Smith County 4-H was proud to be represented by four outstanding exhibitors at the Regional and State Beef Expo, which took place in Lebanon on July 1-3. 10th grader Abby Malone, 8th grader Erin Hensley, 4th grader Kara Brooks, and 4th grader Millie Stinnett showed in their breed classes, competed in showmanship, and completed skillathon.  Showmanship classes are judged on the exhibitor’s ability to control and present their animal to the show off its best characteristics, while skillathon tests exhibitors’ overall knowledge of beef cattle including breeds, diseases, nutrition, and more.
