Sonora, CA…From the Tuolumne Sheriff’s Dept…”Since the beginning of May 2021, the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office has received reports of seven drownings and two near drownings at lakes and waterways within our county. The incidents have taken place at Gods Bath, Rainbow Pools, New Melones Lake, and Lake Don Pedro. Our office is currently conducting recovery efforts of three victims from over the weekend. The recoveries are taking place at Lake Don Pedro and New Melones Lake with the assistance of Amador County. We ask everyone to avoid the area while the recovery efforts are being conducted.
