Damascus, SANA- Syrian cartoonist, Raed Khalil won the excellence award at the International Golden Apple Festival for Satire and Humor in Romania, as the theme of his contest revolved around football. Artist Khalil also won the honorary award in the second part of the competition /portrait/ which embodied the personality of the late international footballer Maradona, amid a wide participation of cartoonists from 80 countries. It is noteworthy that Khalil has won tens of prizes at international caricature competitions last year, and he has been the Director of the Syrian International Cartoon Contest since 2005.
